Kingsbridge is a bustling market town situated at the head of the Salcombe Estuary. Located within a part of South Devon know as The South Hams, Kingsbridge is a very popular tourist centre within easy reach of Plymouth, Torbay and Exeter and just a stones throw from numerous sandy beaches, rolling hills and breathtaking countryside.
Still a vibrant working town, Kingsbridge has a good selection of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs which are open all year.
At the centre of the town is a large square with a bandstand where you’ll find weekly markets, twice monthly farmers markets and many annual festivals such as Kingsbridge Fair Week and Kingsbridge Music and Food Festival.
The town is steeped in history, with buildings on the main Fore Street dating back to as early as the 13th Century. The Cookworthy Museum located at the top of Fore Street has fantastic records and artifacts to view on a rainy day.
For the more active, there are two links golf courses located within easy reach, one at Thurlestone and the other at Bigbury. The town also boasts a large leisure complex, complete with indoor swimming pool, while just a few miles away are the popular sailing hubs of Salcombe and Dartmouth.
